E.ON and Delgaz Grid donates 10,000 smoke detectors for Romanian households

E.ON and Delgaz Grid are donating 10,000 smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to the Department for Emergency Situations (D.S.U.) and the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations by (I.G.S.U.) as part of the ”Together for Safety” Partnership. They will be distributed free of charge to families in several counties.

The action is part of the ”Detector for Life” Campaign, which is being carried out as part of the Romanian Civil Protection Week, and aims to highlight the importance of installing detectors in homes and the need to clean and repair chimneys.

More than 6600 house fires, an average of 18 per day, occurred in Romania last year, according to ECG data.

The main causes of house fires are defective or unclean, chimneys 33%, and faulty electrical installation 23%.
