PENNY Romania, in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity Romania and the Hercules Association, has opened the BufKids Canteen, a program aimed at providing a daily hot meal to 50 children at the Buftea Day Centre.
This initiative supports efforts to address poverty and promote educational access through proper nutrition. The BufKids canteen is a part of the Buftea Day Care Centre, developed by Habitat for Humanity Romania, and its purpose is to provide nutritious meals to improve the children’s school performance.
PENNY Romania, as the main partner, continues its commitment to support local communities and contribute to the sustainable development of society. Chef Nicolai Tand, as a PENNY Romania brand-ambassador, joined forces with 15 children from the centre to prepare the first meal in the newly inaugurated canteen.
20 teams, a total of 523 volunteers, contributed more than 3,000 hours of work to the project.
